• For the 2022-23 school year, ACC adopted a rotating 7 day 7 period schedule. Each day, students will meet with all of their teachers, starting with a different class each day. On Wednesdays, each student will connect with their Advisory teacher and cohort. Advisory occurs after the second block of that rotation day.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Advisory
At ACC educators build students’ emotional literacy by teaching them how to identify emotions in themselves and others by giving students the tools to predict how others feel and then respond appropriately. Our Advisory class gives teachers and students time to meet in small groups, connect, and learn SEL competencies. In addition teachers integrate emotional literacy into their coursework.

Instructional Focus
Our IF is to “Transition from symbolic diversity to become an Anti-Racist, Multicultural Institution by providing all students the opportunity to engage in analytical reasoning through culturally proficient curriculum and instruction that fosters rigor and depth.” The way in which we measure our progress through instruction is by using the BPS Essentials for Instructional Equity, students ability to build and express meaning, and measuring the Cognitive Demand of our assignments. Given different classroom contexts, we personalize, individualize, and differentiate our instruction and students’ learning.
